Some of the jobs that will definitely require you to have a good conduct certificate are civil service jobs, NGO jobs and jobs advertised by big organizations.

The directorate of criminal investigations is the one tasked with processing of good conduct certificates. You are required to renew your good conduct license yearly for it to be valid.
Before we look at how to renew your good conduct online, let’s look at how to create an ecitizen account if you don’t have one because the good conduct renewal process is done on the ecitizen website.
Create an ecitizen account with these simple steps.
1. Access the ecitizen login page using this link https://accounts.ecitizen.go.ke/login
2. Click create an account.
3. Click create an account under ecitizen Kenyan citizen on the next page(for Kenya citizens).
4. Enter your id number and first name on the screen that appears and click validate for the system to check whether your details match.
5. After the system has confirmed your details, fill the email address, confirm email address, mobile number, password, confirm password fields and click continue.
6. You will be required to verify your phone number on the next step. The system will send you a code to your phone that you will enter to confirm that the phone number you entered is actually yours.
You have successfully created an ecitizen account. You can login to access the many ecitizen services available.
Here are the steps on how to renew your good conduct online.
1. Access the ecitizen login page using this link https://accounts.ecitizen.go.ke/login
2. Enter your email address /ID Number and click login( click create an account if you are not registered to create an ecitizen account)
3. On successful login, you will be directed to the admin panel.
4. Select get service under directorate of criminal investigations
5. Click police clearance certificate under our services
6. Choose your application under police clearance owner field and click next
7. Click next on the screen that appears
8. Choose the fingerprint area and the fingerprint locations and click complete.
9. You will now be taken to the payment page. Choose the mode of payment you prefer and fill in the payment details.
10.On clicking the complete button after successful payment, you will be directed to a page where you will make the Huduma centre appointment for the capture of fingerprints and download the fingerprint capture forms and the payment receipts.
You have successfully completed your good conduct certificate renewal process online. Your good conduct certificate will be ready for download two to three weeks after submitting your fingerprints at the Huduma center.
