Software development skills just like computer repair skills are taught in IT and therefore graduates in IT know how to develop softwares in different programming languages. Businesses and organizations like schools and hospitals need systems to help them manage records with ease. You could develop a school management system or a hospital management system and sell to make money. Selling of systems can make you filthy rich and not seek for a job in your entire life. 

Develop a mobile app and sell to make money

Many people own smartphones nowadays. This creates a market for mobile apps. All you need to do is develop a good app like a food ordering app and you won’t fail to sell because the market already exists.
