A driving license is a document that authorizes a person to drive a particular vehicle. It shows that the driver has the competence required to operate or drive the vehicle. Many countries require a driver to possess a valid driving license in order to drive a vehicle. Kenya is an example of those countries.
Minimum requirements to enroll in a driving school
For a person to qualify to be enrolled in a driving school, he/She must have the following qualifications:
Be of sound mind
Driving involves use of your mind so a person learning how to drive must be of sound mind to grasp the driving lessons and make good judgment while driving
Be literate
The person needs to be literate to be able to understand the driving lessons and know the many road signs that are used on the roads.
Be examined by a medical doctor and found fit
Driving involves use of different body parts like the eyes to see and the legs and hands to engage the gears. Persons training to be drivers are therefore required to be fit for smooth operation and driving of the vehicle.
Be not less than 16 years.
Should not be a criminal.

3. Rocky driving school- was established in the late 1990s By Muhib Noorani
It has branches in Nairobi, Mombasa and other parts of Kenya
The following are the driving license categories available in Kenya
Category A- for motorbike drivers
Category B- for light automatic vehicle drivers
Category C – for light truck drivers
Category D- for van drivers
Category E—for special professional drivers
Category F- for persons with disability
Category G- for plant and equipment drivers
Here are the steps on How to renew your driving license online (Kenya)
1. Access the ecitizen login page using this link https://accounts.ecitizen.go.ke/login
2. Enter your email address /ID Number and click login( click create an account if you are not registered to create an ecitizen account)
3. On successful login, you will be directed to the admin panel.
4. Click get service under National Transport and Safety Authority.
5. Click make application on the page that appears.
6. Click driving licenses among the applications provided.
7. Select the type of renewal you want i.e one year driving license renewal
8. Click apply now on the next screen
9. You will be directed to the payment page. Select your mode of payment i.e Mpesa enter all the payment information and submit. Click complete once you receive the payment confirmation message to be able to print the renewal slip which you will find under downloads.
