Software engineers are professionals who write, maintain and test computer instructions (code) that help computers carry out tasks. The instructions are written in a language that can be understood by computers called a programming language. Software engineers are therefore individuals who are competent in one or more computer programming language. There are self-taught software engineers who learnt programming through internet resources like Google or YouTube and those who actually went to college or university to study it.

If you are going to college and wish to become a software engineer, you will need to study courses that are related to computers like information technology, computer science, business information technology among others. Ensure that you understand any units related to programming as these are the skills that you will apply in your day to day work after school. C ++

It was developed in the year 1980 By  Bjarne Stroustrup. It is commonly used for developing games, embedded systems, OS and Database systems.

JAVA

It was discovered by James Gosling in the year 1995.  It is mostly used for server side apps, web based apps and android apps.

PYTHON

Python is a high level programming language which was discovered in late 1980s by Guido van Rossum. It is commonly used for data science, web apps, machine learning, automation and games development.

C#

It was discovered in the year 2000 by Anders Hejlsberg. It is mostly used for web apps and games development.
